AUTHOR TO SPEAK ON POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
On Tuesday, April 16th, at 7:00 PM, the Pigeon District Library will host
Ken Rogers, a life-long Michigan resident and author of the book "Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder: A Police Officer's Report". Ken says, "I have written a book
about my personal experiences serving as a Police Officer and my involvement
in the shooting of a barricaded gunman. The emotional issues which followed
including suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder changed my life forever.
My desire is that other First Responders understand that they are not alone in their
feelings of isolation and depression. With help and knowledge they can survive a critical
incident and the possibility of developing PTSD."
The free program is open to everyone who has an interest in post traumatic
stress disorder and in learning how Ken dealt with his PTSD.

MISSING ISSUES OF LOCAL NEWSPAPER NEEDED
Over the years, the library has continued to microfilm the weekly paper so
that residents have access to back issues when researching family history or
local events. We are currently getting the 2007, 2008 and 2009 issues of
the Newsweekly and the Huron County Press microfilmed and have been informed
that we have several issues missing or damaged. If anyone has the following
issues of the Newsweekly/Huron County Press and would be willing to loan
them to us for microfilming purposes, we would be extremely grateful –
December 5, 2007; January 30, 2008; April 23, 2008; July 2, 2008.
