The Friends of the Pigeon District Library has a spring fundraiser called “Flower Power”. Information is available online at our website www.pigeondistrictlibrary.com and through brochures to inform patrons about the fundraiser. The brochures have been placed on the FOPDL Book Sale carousel near the Circulation Desk. For every item ordered, the friends group gets 50% of the cost of the item(s). The person who places the order pays $5.00 to cover shipping and everything is sent directly to the customer. This fundraiser will end on March 31st.

The Pigeon District Library’s Adult Winter Reading Program ends March 15. Adult patrons who participated this year had a lot of fun. Since class size is limited for these workshops, pre-registration is required and the sign up sheets are on the table near the Circulation Desk. The workshops will be held in the library’s computer lab.

During the spring the Pigeon District Library is offering a once-a-month late afternoon program for preschoolers, and for children in grades K-2, and grades 3 -5. The program for the preschoolers includes a story, craft, and other activities. The program for children in grades K-2 includes a story, craft, and snack, and the program for children in grades 3-5 includes a snack and activities centered on the paperback book “The Lightning Thief.” Those who sign up for this activity will receive a free copy of the book being discussed. These spring programs will take place during the months of
March through May. Please call the library at 453-2341 for further information.
STORY HOUR
“Craft Day” will be the theme for Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Usually one half-hour session is held for Lap-Sit Story Time each Tuesday at 10:00 AM with parent and child attending the Story Time and Pre-School Story Hour is held each Tuesday at 10:30 AM. In both sessions, children listen to stories and participate in finger plays, songs and crafts. There is no cost for this service and new families are always welcome.
