ANNUAL USED BOOK SALE
The Friends of the Pigeon District Library will be holding the Annual Used Book Sale in the Reference Room of the library during Farmers’ Festival. If anyone is interested in volunteering to assist in the set-up of the used book sale, please contact the library for more information. The library staff is requesting that no books be brought to the library for the book sale until July 12, due to limited storage space.

PARK AND READ PROGRAM
Enjoy a Great Book in the Great Outdoors!

Back for a second summer, the DNRE, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Library of Michigan are again offering Park & Read at more than 400 libraries across Michigan like the Pigeon District Library.

Park & Read allows Pigeon District Library card-holders the ability to “check-out” a one-day pass into any Michigan state park or recreation area in lieu of the resident daily motor vehicle permit. This $6 savings also provides free access to more than 500 events taking place in state parks throughout the summer.

For those interested in bringing along a library book for serious beach reading, 71 of the state parks have hammocks available for Park & Read users to borrow while on-site for the day so they can fully enjoy a great book in Michigan’s great outdoors. For more information about Park & Read, please inquire at the library’s circulation desk.

QUILT SHOW
We will again be having our Annual Quilt Show during the Pigeon Farmers’ Festival. If you are interested in displaying a quilt that you or someone else has made, please call the library at 453-2341 and ask to speak to Jeanette Bach.
Quilt Show Guidelines
1. Only quilts, comforters, and wall hangings will be accepted for display
purposes.
2. Pre-registration is required. Please stop in at the library and pick up a
registration form and return it to the library by July 15th.
3. Quilted items which have been previously displayed at the Pigeon District
Library may be displayed again after 10 years.
4. If an individual wishes to sell a quilted item, he/she must send a picture of
the item along with the registration form.
5. Quilted items for sale will be identified as such and potential buyers will be
directed to a bulletin board where the picture of the quilted item will be
displayed along with the quilter’s contact information. No money will be
collected by the Pigeon District Library staff members and volunteers.

AMNESTY WEEK
Amnesty Week will be held at the Pigeon District Library during Farmers’ Festival Week, July 19th – 24th. Here is your chance to clear your account of fines and overdue books. Overdue books must be returned and you must ask staff at the counter to remove fines from your library account. If something has been lost, you must pay the replacement cost for any lost item.
