This year thirty-seven children received the gift of reading.

There will be no Lap-Sit or Story Hour on December 25, 2012 or January 1, 2013. Sessions for Lap-Sit and PreSchool Story Hour will resume on January 8, 2013. The theme will be “Fun Day”. There is no cost for this service and new families are always welcome. For more information, please call the library at 453-2341 and ask for Jane Himmel.

FOOD FOR FINES: DECEMB ER 17 – 31
Start the year 2013 free of fines. For every canned/boxed item you bring to the library, we will reduce your fine by $1.00. These non-perishable items will then be given to the local food pantry to replenish their shelves.

BOOKPAGE
The December 2012 issue of BookPage had arrived and can be found in the library’s Information Center. “A monthly general interest book review, BookPage covers the best in new releases. BookPage typically reviews up to 1000000 of each month’s new fiction, nonfiction, business, children’s, audio, and how-to books. The tone is upbeat and literate, focusing on bestsellers as well as discoveries.” BookPage can be accessed through the internet at www.bookpage.com.

ADULT WINTER READING PROGRAM
This is the fifth year for our adult winter reading program which is scheduled for January 15 – March 15, 2013. We think it is a lot of fun for our adult readers, but participation is totally optional. Details will be coming very soon.

COFFEE TIME AT THE LIBRARY
Hot coffee, cocoa, and tea are available on Thursdays in the Reference Room of the library. Come and relax with a cup of coffee, cocoa, or tea while reading the newspaper or visiting with fellow readers.

ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
Have you, by chance, left behind a jacket or sweater in one of the library’s coat closets? If you are missing one, please call the library at 453-2341 and describe it to the staff so they can check to see if it is among the “left behind” articles of clothing. Any unclaimed articles of clothing will be donated to Thumb Industries in January.
