1.      Quilted items-comforters, garments, purses, quilts, table runners, wall hangings, etc.-will be accepted for display purposes.

2.      Pre-registration is required. A registration form can be picked up at the library, but must be completed by July 12, 2013. (Quilts registered after July 12 will be accepted if display space is available.) Quilted items which have been previously displayed at the Pigeon District Library may be displayed again after 10 years.

3.      If an individual wishes to sell a quilted item, he/she must send a picture of the item along with the registration form.

4.      Quilted items for sale will be identified as such and potential buyers will be directed to a bulletin board where the picture of the quilted item will be displayed along with the quilter’s contact information. No money will be collected by the Pigeon District Library staff members and volunteers.

MI BIG GREEN GYM – FREE ONE-DAY PASS
Don’t forget!  Free one-day passes are available at our library for any state park, state forest campground or pathway, as well as many family-friendly destinations at select community recreation facilities.   Our library can hand out four free passes each week and each one-day pass expires one week from the day of checkout so it doesn’t have to be used the day it is checked out.

MICHIGAN ACTIVITY PASS
Library users with a valid library card can check out a pass for one of Michigan’s premier cultural attractions with the “Michigan Activity Pass”.  The program is designed to enhance the learning experience for people of all ages through books and other library materials, and to provide reduced cost or complimentary access to arts and cultural organizations across the state of Michigan.  Each week, our library will have five passes for each of the participating organizations available.  For more information and to print out a pass, either from home or at our library, visit the
http://michiganactivitypass.info website.  Passes are available for checkout by library patrons on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

BOOKPAGE
The June 2013 issue of BookPage has arrived and can be found in the library’s Information Center. “A monthly general interest review, BookPage covers the best in new releases. BookPage typically reviews up to 100 of each month’s new fiction, nonfiction, business, children, spoken word audio and how-to books. The tone is upbeat and literate, focusing on bestsellers as well as new discoveries.”

THURSDAY REFRESHMENTS
Cold Lemonade and hot coffee are available on Thursdays in the Reference Room of the library. Come and relax with a cup of lemonade or coffee while studying, reading the newspaper or visiting with fellow readers.
