“The Michigan Reads! Program seeks to highlight the importance of reading and sharing books with children, especially toddlers through early elementary, and to recognize the vital role of libraries which provide access to quality books, programs and services to children and families that lay the foundation for reading and school success.”
The book selected for 2008 is “Raccoon Tune” by Nancy Shaw. The Pigeon District Library will host a special event on Thursday, October 2 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM for the Preschool through second grade children and their families to attend. The event will include the reading of the book “Raccoon Tune, a “raccoon” craft and game, and refreshments. Children may come in their night clothes (pajamas) and join us for some raccoon fun!
